Paul Hatch has served as a design expert witness in over 25 intellectual property cases including design patents, utility patents, trademarks and trade dress. He has provided testimony in over 15 depositions and has testified in court 5 times.
Mr. Hatch has over 27 years of experience as an industrial designer. During this time, he designed many consumer electronics, power tools, houseware products, applicances, medical products, automotive and industrial products. In his design work, he has been intimately involved in many stages of the development from concept ideation through consumer research, 3D CAD, prototyping, mechanical engineering, prototyping and testing, and supporting manufacturing and assembly.
Mr. Hatch is listed as an inventor on over 50 design and utility patents. He has published two books about design, written articles, and has given many keynote talks on design, technology and manufacture. In 2018, Mr. Hatch was nominated to the prestigious Academy of Design Fellows of the IDSA (Industrial Design Society of America), to which only two people are elected each year.
